Our Menus

Our Executive Chef is the only one in Southern Connecticut to use the old world technique of skillet cooking; producing the most perfectly cooked steak. Besides our steak entrees, we also offer the freshest seafood, lamb and duck entrees, as well as daily specials prepared to perfection by our master chefs. All of our beef is perfectly aged and hand cut on the premises. We use only the finest ingredients, the freshest seafood and Prime Angus beef; each presented with simple elegance.

• To best accommodate all our guests, we ask that large parties arrive together in order to be seated. We allow a 15-minute window for your reservation however, beyond that time we can no longer guarantee your table as we try and accommodate other patrons. • In order to accommodate all our guests and for everyone to have an enjoyable experience at the Cast Iron Chef, we ask that you adhere to the following table times for your reservation. For tables of 1-2, we allow an hour and a half for your reservation. For tables of 3-4, we allow two hours for your reservation. For tables of 5-6, we allow two and a half hours at the table, and for tables of 8 or more we allow a max of 3 hours at the table. Thank you for your cooperation. • While we consider special requests, modifications are not always possible as they can impact the focus of the kitchen and the integrity of many dishes. • Please notify us of any allergies or dietary restrictions so we can better accommodate your requests. • While we do not offer split checks, we can accommodate up to 4 forms of payment for your bill. If you are joining us with a large group, we suggest everyone bring cash or use of Venmo or other money transfer services. • Outside desserts are welcome however you will incur a $3 per person dessert fee. We will happily cut or serve your dessert and partake in any celebratory song. • Our restaurants are generally not the best environment for young children. We welcome families, but we ask parents to keep children at the table and calm vocal infants or youngsters outside of the dining room. We do not offer a children’s menu however we have other delicious food options suitable for children.

Attilio, The Cast Iron Chef, has spent 24 years honing his culinary talents. In addition to creating new menu items, Attilio brings his passion for the American traditional menu of steaks. His specialty, the “Porterhouse for 2” with its delectable aroma permeating throughout the dining room, is a fan favorite. He brings consistency and excellence to every meal served. If you want to watch a chef prepare a sizzling steak in a cast iron skillet, visit us at The Cast Iron Chop House in New Haven, CT.You will witness chef Attilio Marini cook sizzling cuts of meat in a steaming skillet, creating his signature crusty on the outside, tender on the inside. Attilio’s signature dish is the 4-pound powerhouse porterhouse for two. He slices the meat from the bone then places it in a sizzling skillet along with potatoes, butter and roasted garlic. “I don’t like the taste of charbroiled meat,” he said of his unique cooking style. “I knew there had to be a better way to make a steak.” The skillet style of making steak is actually “an old way of cooking with a new twist,” according to Attilio. Cast iron cooking requires very hot ovens and stove tops. At The Cast Iron Chop House the steak dishes are delivered in the sizzling skillet to the patron’s table. The entire dining room is filled with the tastebud-exploding aroma. Ansonia resident Tom Purcell, who frequents the restaurant, enjoys the process. “It’s incredible the way they cut it,” he said. “When it arrives, you admire it for a bit before digging in. And the caramelized garlic, wow.” Recently he ordered a 2-pound ribeye steak with the bone in presented in cast iron. ﻿A wedding customer at The Cast Iron Chop House recently displayed two powerhouse porterhouses on each table for guests to photograph. “The presentation was amazing,” said the bride’s mother, Roberta Jurik. “It’s one of the best steaks in my life, and I don’t say that lightly. I’ve had steak at the best places in Manhattan. Every bite of Attilio’s steak is delicious.”

We’ve been proudly serving New Haven for six years with Cast Iron Chef Chophouse, but our culinary journey started long before that. In 1988, my grandmother opened Marisa’s Restaurant in Bridgeport, CT; we later moved to Trumbull, CT, in 1997. After many years of success, my father, Chef Attilio Marini, took over the family business and opened Cast Iron Chef Chophouse in New Haven, where we’ve been for the past six years. Chef Attilio is a self-taught culinary artist who honed his craft through years of trial, research, and hands-on experience. As his eldest daughter, I grew up surrounded by amazing food, which sparked my passion for sharing our family’s recipes with others.
